Multimode Resonator

Single Mode Resonator:

The resonator where the incident wave excites only one resonant mode is called single mode resonator.

Multimode Resonator:

The resonator where the incident wave stimulates two or more resonant modes is called multimode resonator.

Optical Cavity:

It is an arrangement of mirrors and or other elements that forms a cavity resonator for light waves. Optical cavity are the major component of the lasers, surrounding the gain medium and providing the feedback of lasers.

FWHM (Full width Half maximum):

It is the the difference between two values of independent variables at which dependant variable is half of it's maximum value. In other words it is the width of spectrum curve measured between those points on y axis which are half the maximum amplitude.
