Smith Chart

Smith Chart is a technical tool developed by Philip Smith around 1940. It allows to calculate the reflection coefficienct, return loss, VSWR and impedance matching of any radio frequency circuit. The tool was developed many years before to help rf engineers but it is still helpful despite of advancements in rf, microwave and antenna design. The tool can be seen below in figure. On horizontal axis it has real part and on vertical axis it has imaginary part.
